US West Face Thunderstorms and Potential Flash Flood Threat
Western states of the US may face flash floods threat this week as thunderstorms head their way.
According to the National Weather Service, heavy rainfall from monsoonal activity is expected to hit the interior western states, particularly the area from the Great Basin to the Rockies – continuing the potential for flash flooding, especially in complex terrain and urban areas.
Areas left barren of vegetation by the wildfires throughout the West are especially prone to flash flooding when subjected to heavy rainfall.
Parts of Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Washington and Montana are under a flood watch.
