M 5.5 Earthquake Osaka, Japan

The U.S. Geological Survey reported a M 5.5 earthquake near Osaka just before 08:00 local time this morning.

Due to the differences between seismic measurement scales, the Japan Meteorological Agency recorded this earthquake as 6.1 on its scale (later updated to 5.9), a level at which it is difficult to remain standing. EigenPrism’s real-time event catalog is linked to the USGS data feed.
