Tropical Depression Three developing in the Gulf Coast, US
Tropical Depression three is currently heading North towards the South-eastern U.S. with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. It is expected to slowly strengthen into Tropical Storm Claudette before making a US landfall by Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
The third named storm of the season – TS Claudette, will also become the first tropical storm to make a US landfall this year. It is likely to produce heavy rainfall and lead to flooding, and tropical-storm-force winds well in advance of landfall, particularly in Louisiana and Mississippi.
