Telegraph and Mescal Wildfires in Eastern Arizona scorches over 140,000 Acres

Two large wildfires Telegraph and Mescal burns more than 140,000 acres in Eastern Arizona, prompting evacuations. Mescal Fire began on June 1 while the Telegraph Fire was first reported on June 4.

As of Today, June 10 the Telegraph Fire has burned 84,860 acres and is now 34% contained while the Mescal Fire has scorched 70,066 acres and is now 23% contained.

The Telegraph wildfire – now the 10th largest in state history, is believed to be human-caused and was fuelled by dry, windy conditions and high temperatures.
