Subtropical storm Alberto and Cyclone Mekunu

While the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season doesn’t officially start until June 1, subtropical storm Alberto has formed in the western Caribbean and is expected to bring heavy rain to the southeast and Florida this weekend.

And in the Gulf of Aden, Cyclone Mekunu is moving towards landfall in Oman and Yemen tomorrow. The powerful cyclone has winds equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane.
