Multiple M5.5+ Earthquakes Strike Nevada

Three earthquakes struck Nevada, with magnitude 5.7, 5.7 and 5.5, and multiple aftershocks, near Hawthorne, Nevada earlier today. They were centered in a remote area about 70 miles southeast of Lake Tahoe, near the California line, according to the Associated Press. Light shaking was felt as far away as South Lake Tahoe, Fresno and Carson City in Nevada, according to the Los Angeles TImes.
