M 7.0 Earthquake NNE of Néon Karlovásion, Greece

A powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.0 struck the Aegean Sea on Friday and inflicted damage in both Greece and Turkey. In Turkey, many buildings have collapsed, six lives are lost and 257 people have been injured with many others still trapped under the rubble.

In Greece’s island of Samos, the death toll is 2, buildings have been damaged and landslides were seen on different parts of the island. The earthquake was also felt across the eastern Greek islands and even in the Greek capital, Athens.
