M 6.1 earthquake 25 km east of Yilan, Taiwan

An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred off Northern Taiwan on Thursday evening, 9:19 pm (local time). The epicenter was about 25 km (16 miles) east of Yilan, Taiwan, and the tremors were felt across Yilan, Keelung, Taipei, and other areas near the epicenter. 

No initial reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake have been reported. Also, the event has not prompted any tsunami advisories.
