California wildfires update
The Kincade Fire, in Northern California, now covers 40 square miles and has destroyed or damaged at least 49 homes and structures. As of this post, it is 10% contained. The Tick Fire, burning near Santa Clarita in Southern California, covers 7 square miles and is 25% contained.
Wildfire proximity maps provide the proximity of any location to the current perimeter of an active wildfire, and are useful as an early warning to surface exposure in the vicinity of wildfires.
