Hurricane Dorian made landfall over Cape Hatteras and is now moving northeastward.
Life-threatening storm surge and dangerous winds are expected to continue along portions of the North Carolina coast, portions of southeast Virginia and the southern Chesapeake Bay.NHC
Dorian is forecast to track along the North Carolina coast today and be near or over Atlantic Canada this weekend. While weakening is expected, it will be a powerful hurricane-force extratropical storm as it reaches Atlantic Canada. Also noteworthy; tropical-storm-force winds will expand significantly as the storm moves north.
