Severe Cyclonic Storm Yaas Headed For a Landfall in Odisha, India

Super cyclone Yaas is heading towards East coast of India with a wind speed of 70 mph as of May 25. According to The India Meteorological Department (IMD), it is likely to intensify into a ‘very-severe cyclonic storm’ in the next 12 hours before making a landfall near Balasore in north Odisha with a speed of 97 mph to 102 mph, around noon on May 26. Yaas will bring heavy rainfall to the nearby areas. 

Just a week ago another huge cyclone – Cyclone Tauktae made landfall in the west coast claiming 155 lives.
