California wildfires update – October 31
High winds sparked a new wildfire 50 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles early Wednesday morning. A proximity map is not yet available for the the Easy fire (at time of posting).
The Kincade fire north of San Francisco has burned over 76,000 acres and is now 30% contained. The Getty fire is 27% contained. The Tick fire is 94% contained as of Wednesday morning and all evacuation orders have been lifted.
Assessing the California wildfires impact
Wildfire proximity maps provide the proximity of any location to the current perimeter of an active wildfire, and are useful as an early warning to surface exposure in the vicinity of wildfires.
